A backbone JS-based web and mobile app displaying live updates for Team GB athletes throughout the Olympics

Responsible for the front-end code of the 2011 Vodafone Mclaren Mercedes formula one website.
The site features complex content block logic that randomises layout of content based on its publication date and position on the page.
During a race, the dashboard JavaScript listens to a bespoke feed hosted on a remote nginx server, allowing commentary and telemetry to be updated in real time.

Created a back-end API based on the Zend Framework used by a flash application to display and interact with ideas for TV apps.
The system automatically polls twitter, facebook and other websites to search for relevant content. This information is categorised and passed through a profanity filter before appearing on the site.
A custom administration area was created, allowing moderators to check and alter content, and for the tweaking of search terms.

Also oversaw the creation of the front-end, including the optimisation of the site for iPad users via the use of CSS3 transitions for smoother animations.

I was the sole developer on the build of the new Kingston University site. It aimed to raise the profile of the university in time for the next academic year.
Along with clean valid html and structured CSS, it features a few javascript 'effects' (the slideshows on section home pages, and the scrolling tabs) that have been implemented using a methodology called progressive enhancement, so any users visiting the site through older browsers that don't offer support these features don't lose out, they see replacement content.
In addition to the creation of html templates, I provided support during the development phase helping their in-house team with suggestions for how to build the site and manage it internally, and providing comprehensive handover documentation.

Created a new wordpress theme for the handcircus company website to help advertise their games, including Rolando and Okabu.
Also developed a custom plugin for the wordpress administration area to allow images and videos to be managed in a specific way on each game page.

Responsible for the front-end code for this site, aimed at promoting the use of live data captured by professional snowboarders using sensors, an arduino and a nokia phone.
Each page is comprised of several reusable content blocks that are laid out dynamically with JavaScript in a modular grid pattern.

An experimental website for the Jerwood Visual Arts group. The site is an attempt to document the process of exhibiting art at Jerwood Space in London Bridge.
The site is a bit rough round the edges, but intentionally so. It pulls in related info from a number of sources, but if anything goes wrong that's how it's got to stay.

The site features custom overlays and tooltips, carousels, plenty of movement and dynamic content, and a shop.

Responsible for the front-end of this site for the Spanish Coca-cola Institute of Happiness.
The site features a number of custom JavaScript widgets and a section called Feli which displays and filters relevant research data from the institute based on user selection.

HTML templates built for a Boots microsite aimed at providing holidaymakers with a checklist of items they might need for their Summer holiday.

HTML templates created for the Digital UK Postcode Checker, a site aimed at providing UK citizens with information regarding their switchover dates for digital television services.
The site contains collapsible sections of content, and custom overlays containing extra information for certain parts of the site.

HTML templates built for the npower brighter energy website, an interactive debate site allowing members of the public the chance to ask questions about npower and the energy industry.

Member of the front-end development team responsible for creating page templates that were implemented by an external company who were building the e-commerce aspect of the site.
During this long-term project we produced front-end developer standards documentation to ensure all developers produced consistent code, and to explain our logic to the people integrating our templates into the back-end system

Created a 'blog-fodder' site for the latest Sony BRAVIA advert, to follow on from the successful site we built for the bouncing balls advert we created the year before.
This site featured a customised wordpress blog, allowing members of the public to keep up to date with the release of the new advert.
It offered high-quality streaming or downloads of the advert itself and related material, including an image gallery and behind the scenes showcase.
The site was very successful, receiving plenty of press coverage and over a million hits in the first week after launch

HTML templates created for the BBC Celebrity Scissorhands microsite.
The site was created to the current BBC build guidelines, utilising their existing codebase and adding custom HTML, CSS and images unique to this site.

The Cupboard Under the Stairs are a new design collective who make things, a "multi-disciplinary art and design practice devoted to telling stories in 2D and 3D". They create sculptures, collages, installations, illustrations, and much more.
This site contains a blog, and a home page that allows members of the Cupboard to add information about their latest projects.

A new site for London-based advertising agency Chick Smith Trott.
The site features a small sitemap at the bottom of the home page to enable users (and search engines) to quickly jump to any section of the site.
There is also a customised wordpress blog, sIFR flash-replaced headings, lightbox popup image gallery, embedded flash video and a simple google map.

Site created for employees and agencies working for Toshiba, allowing them to access the latest brand guidelines.

Created the PHP backend for a flash application, which saves any number of datapoints relating to a line graph charting a user's life events.
Upon successful completion of a graph, an email is generated and sent to the user allowing them to retrieve and edit their graph at a later date.

I was the lead developer on the build of the Daihatsu UK website
The site promotes each of the car ranges in a clean and clear manner, allowing users to see large images of each vehicle through a custom-built javascript slideshow. The entire site is SEO-friendly, while accessibility remained at the forefront of the build.
sIFR has been used to dynamically insert a flash font for the headings for better typography and kerning. If users don't have flash or javascript, they will appear as similar but web-standard fonts.

New website for JCDecaux, provider of 'outdoor advertising solutions'.
Used best practice web standards and progressive enhancement techniques, including the unobtrusive use of advanced interaction (Flash & AJAX) and the implementation of an expandable layout to ensure compliance with the Web Accessibility Initiative guidelines.

The site allows users to book hospitality packages for the Euro 2008 football tournament.

Site built for a small firm of financial recruitment consultants based in Farringdon.
Their target is to place applicants in high positions within firms, rather than going for a high quantity turnover.
The site has proven successful, receiving several applications per week.
It allows applicants to apply for jobs online, submitting CVs in the process. RSS feeds are offered for up-to-date listings of job offers.

Promotional microsite created for Sony to showcase the release of their first video walkman mp3 player.
The site was originally intended for press release only, but proved popular and the link was soon published on many technology sites and blogs.
